A New Beginning and An Ending

June 3, 2008 / by angiedw

There are two times of day that I find very enjoyable--the morning and the evening. Every thing begins anew, fresh in the morning. I have a new page that I can fill with all those things that need to be done and those that I just find soothing and delightful. All the mistakes of yesterday, all those what if's and I wish I hadn't's are a thing of the past, to be put away but taken out later to evaluate and to ponder. The evenings are a quiet time to reflect upon all those events of the day, the successes and the failures, a time to relax and plan for the activities of tomorrow. It is a time to spend with family and enjoy the love and comfort that the togetherness brings.

Little Reni slept until 4:30 this morning, and another night of interrupted sleep left me fresh and ready to face yet another day. Reni was so hungry since she had slept from 9 in the evening. After taking her bottle, we made tracks to the litter box. Now you may find this strange, but Reni is such a wise little furball. She doesn't enjoy a messy bed and waits until I put her into the box to do her business. Since hubby brought her in on Friday afternoon, she has had only one accident. I await the day when she can findly make it into the cats' room and into the litter box on her own. It is much as when a child receives his license, and parents do not have to run up and down the rode to and from appointment or practices.

Do you realize that little animals have to be burped just as any baby? They swallow so much air when they nurse. Reni is such a pig that she really gives off a big one! It takes about 45 minutes to feed her. We must stop to use the litter box, eat, stop to burp, eat, stop to play a bit, then eat and sleep! I was able to get on this morning during one of her nap times, but hubby called, woke her up, but she is now sleeping after eating and playing some more.

Besides my regular chores around the house and cooking--something that I truly enjoy--I had a friend come to look at one of mom's sofas. My friend expressed the desire to buy a used one, for money is tight for her. I offered her one of mom's--a sectional or a sofa whichever she preferred. She came last night to look at them and chose the sofa and will come back to pick it up. Since it has been raining some today, she and her hubby might decided to pick it up later. This will save her some money and put to good use a piece of furniture that will always bring back memories of mom and dad and family time.

I await the evening to look back at this day to see if I can be pleased with my actions and have no regrets for what I did or didn't do.

That's a very good way to look on your day.

It seems lately that I must remind myself of all of the good in my life, for sometimes the bad is so very overwhelming.

You have such an amazing attitude. I love the morning but by evening I'm so exhausted all I want to do is crawl into bed!

    Thanks for sharing,

Such good advice, to do this review of the day. I learned to do this as a way to help stregthen memory and to recall dreams. good exercise for the braine cells.

And most of all a good way to look on the did I answer that situation in LOVE or not?

You are most welcome. I have had those days also when I just want to crawl off and lick my wounds as some old junk yard dog!

As you say, I find this reflection a means of personal growth--especially if we are honest with ourselves. If we refuse to accept our mistakes for what they truly are, how are we ever to grow and become?

Oh, thank you. I have been trying to do both since I have friends here that are not on the other site. I am not creative enough to be original in both places. Of course, I wasn't anywhere but inside myself for a long time. I am so glad to be back with the community. Hubby would ask we every evening if I had blogged. He was worried about me.

Great reflection angie, that little kitty came at a wonderful time (just when you needed one.) Wonder how that happen?  Good things happen to good people.  Watch the drive way for Ed McMann and the balloons.

You are welcome!!  I bet he would.  I'm not either.  Most of the time if I do post over here it is copied from the other site.  Glad you are feeling better.

I hope that he brings loads of money along with the balloons--the way the economy is going I will need it for gas and groceries!

Thank you, I am so happy that you enjoyed it. It is written in all honesty. I watched sunrise this morning and water my flowers after the kitten went back to sleep--such a peaceful time.
