Easy Trail Mix
Wheat Chexs
Whole wheat Cheerios
Dried Cranberries or any dried fruit (dried cherries-yum)
Light raisins
Nuts--almonds, walnuts, pecans (any kind that you like will do)
Sunflower seeds
I will not put specific amounts since these would vary according to the quantity that you wish to make.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
In a large bowl, mix cereal and nuts. Add small amount of honey and toss together. Spread on a cookie sheet sprayed with Pam. Bake mixture 15 to 20 minutes, stirring once. Remove cookie sheet from oven, transfer to bowl and add fruit. Mix together and when cool place in ziplock bags.
This is a high energy snack that we can take along to munch on while we hike the trails

I have a sculpture in from of my house that looks very much like this. Ready for the hike?
Angie,Yes Hikeathon is a word used by the Boy Scouts and our troops.. :-)

Great, it is pretty versatile. You can really put anything in it that you wish.
I'm gonna walk with you..LOL *hugs*
Well, you better have your gear--we will have a long day ahead of us--so much to see!
Sounds yummy and just right! It's a hit!
Be creative and add anything else that you desire!
Oooooo, tasty! The perfect accompaniment to my Munchathon, which will run concurrently with my Hikeathon!
Now Munchathon is something in which I excell! Do you have your binoculars?
Sounds soooo good. I am going to a store called Sprouts later today. They have all kinds of dried fruits and stuff.

You go girl. Don't take too long shopping or you will fall behind on the trail!
That is true. Need to make some of those granola bars too that Martne had on her blog along with what you have on yours.

Those are on my agenda for this weekend also. They sound so very yummy! And we can indulge for they are filled with only those things good for us, right?
That is what makes them so good is you know you are eating things that are good for you!!
Jenn
I must remember to practice moderation even in the things that are so very good for us!
That is very true. I have to practice that with everything. If I am on my feet and this leg too much like last weekend then I pay for it. My leg and foot are still swollen and hurt from being on it too much last Saturday. Ugh!!

Sorry, kiddo. Bummer and double bummer!
Me too it is a bummer but something that I will have to live with and just have to remember my limits and know that I just can't do like used to.

I don't have any binoculars, but maybe I can borrow yours or anniel's? I've got my camera though! This is going to be a fun discovery day!
Sounds delicious!!
Can't wait to try it! That and a cup of coffee and I am good to go!
